Bedside manner Do you have the ability to get along well with people. Do you have a pleasant manner that will inspire confidence in clients. Often it is not what you say but the way you say it that will be of greatest assistance to our clients. Ability to diagnose problems To stay with the doctor anthology, we know that the doctor has access to all sorts of medicines to help cure patients. If he makes an incorrect diagnosis, the medicine may hurt more than it helps. Similarly, your ability to diagnose the problem correctly is extremely important. Ability to find solutions Having once diagnosed a problem, you are now expected to recommend the proper actions to correct the situation. One of the benefits of ICON is that any of our members can call upon other members for areas of expertise outside of your skill range. We do not expect our members to be all things to all men. Technical expertise and knowledge Expertise comes from your education, your experience and the personal skills you have developed. The quality most needed is perhaps sound, practical experience gained over a period of time in a variety of situations. Communication skills Perhaps the most important factor will be your ability to communicate. Communication is a key element for any consultant. Training During your initial interview we will be able to determine your strengths and weaknesses. If the general consensus is favourable then we will be able to offer appropriate training for areas of perceived weaknesses. So please do not be too put off if initially you do not meet our ideal requirements.
